This project was born from a simple wish: to help young children fall in love with reading before a screen ever gets between them and the alphabet.

LOLO Read is a small, smart, screen-free toy for 3 to 6 year-olds. Children pick up real letters, place them on the device, and hear the sound, the word, the story they unlock. No app on a tablet. No flashing colors. Just letters, hands, and curiosity.

The device has a companion parent app, built with Lovable, that lets families choose languages (English, French, Polish, Spanish, more to come), follow progress, and personalise sounds and stories.

I designed LOLO Read with three convictions:

– Early reading should feel like play, not pressure.

– A learning toy should respect a child’s attention, and protect it from screens.

– Inclusivity is not a feature, it’s the foundation. LOLO Read is being shaped to also welcome children who are blind, deaf, dyslexic, or simply far from formal education.
