Maya Journaling — a journaling companion that never leaves your computer

The moment a journal lives in the cloud, a small part of you starts editing itself. You write for the version of you that’s safe to store on someone else’s server — not the real one. And the most healing pages are often the ones you’d never want anyone to read.

Maya Journaling is different by design. It runs entirely on your own computer — the AI, the memory, all of it. No account, no upload, no server. Your words are encrypted with a passphrase only you know, and they simply never leave the machine in front of you.

And you’re not writing into the void. Maya is a gentle companion who walks with you — through gratitude, how your body feels, the emotions and beliefs underneath, all the way to a quiet goodnight — and remembers what matters to you, session after session. Warm, unhurried, never judging.

There’s a also another way to use Maya: Letter. Dictate what you want to say to a friend — in any language, in any order — and Maya shapes it into a letter in your own voice, ready to copy and send. It works in reverse too: play a voice message you received, and Maya transcribes it, translates it, and helps you answer in your friend’s language. And because a cloud AI would expose your friend’s private life as much as your own, this mode saves nothing at all — no entry, no memory, gone the moment you close it.

The privacy is the whole point:

Built with local AI (Ollama), Python and Claude Code — even the voice dictation runs on-device with Whisper, so your spoken words stay put too.
