A project for a 12-year-old girl

“My heart will go on… ⋆˚࿔♫⋆˚࿔”

This project was born from the wish to help a twelve-year-old girl find her way through the winding paths of English tenses.

It was inspired by her love for the piano, for singing — especially English songs — and for magical fairy-tale princesses.

The entire booklet was created in Canva and even printed by the same company, making the whole process seamless from design to the final product in my hands.

I imagined the story told through the illustrations, crafted the prompts myself, and ChatGPT generated the images that brought those ideas to life.

Inside the booklet, I guide Stella — and the reader — step by step through the three main types of English verbs: modal verbs, normal verbs, and semi-modal verbs. Each section explains how they work, how they change in the past, present, and future, and gives examples that make the logic of conjugation easy to grasp.

I also added a clear, colorful presentation of the most common irregular verbs — because those are always the tricky ones!

The goal was to turn grammar into a playful adventure and a practical reference that children can turn to while doing their homework, instead of something boring or intimidating.

You can see a sample of several pages of it right here.

It also highlights and recommends an amazing app called LingoClip, created by Ángel Fernández and Marcela Berrío Vélez from Elasthink SL, that helps you learn English (and more!) through singing songs in English and other languages.

Stella and her unicorn aren’t done yet — the next chapter of this project is already taking shape in digital form.
